Workspace panels

Is it possible to create your own panel in the workspace area (Item, operation, value....)? I would like to add a notes panel that is visible in real time versus placing a comment. Field chooser only allows to add auto wait timeout. Was curious if a custom option i.e. notes can be created that I can import into the workspace alongside my test operations.
