Hi Mike,
I think that Amazon removes user desktop on the remote system when the session is closed and the absence of the desktop makes it not possible for the tested application to draw its GUI. Much like when you close the Remote Desktop session.
I hope that the below links might help:

I have no experience with Amazon Workspaces, but if it works like RDP and locks the station when you disconnect you can possibly work around that with VNC or other remote applications. Currently we have several systems that we run automated testing on and I use UltraVNC(because it's free) to deploy and start test execute scripts on those machines. This allows me to disconnect without locking the workstation. Hopefully that works for you. :smileyhappy:

Hello All,
Thanks for all the replies.
I have tried the tscon command and it makes the amazon virtual pc to restart. I believe amazon dont use rdc to connect to its virtual pc. They have thier own way to connect thats why when I do tscon it makes the virtual machine restart instead of connecting to a user session.
Thanks,
Mike
