I think that the article was about JScript on web page and that JScript from web page is restricted to directly read and/or write files on the local hard drive.

Keep in mind if you're coding in JavaScript in TestComplete, you're not coding for a browser so some things are a bit different. Specifically, the Sys.OleObject method I mentioned is something specific in TestComplete that you can use to create an instance of the Word.Application object you can use within your test script. Give it a shot and let us know if it works.
Colin_McCrae I'm not able to interact with my pdfreaders, I can record the test in this way you told me, but while play Test Complete couldnt set focus on my window. This was first i v tried. saving as with STRG-S.
What is the PDF opening in?
I just tried it. My Win 7 setup isn't setup for PDF files in any special way. I just dumped one in there and opened it. It decided to open it with Chrome.
TestComplete complained that it couldn't see the internals of the PDF application within Chrome properly. But it was able to click it OK. (To put it in focus) And send it "keys" of "^a^c" (CTRL+A, CTRL+C). After that, the full text content of the documents was in sys.clipboard as expected.
