First of all, the latest TestComplete version is 9.20. I'd suggest that you update to this product version (not to v. 9.10).
As for the issue with IE, all TestComplete versions provide backward compatibility. However, the migration can require some minor modifications - please refer to the "Migrating Projects Created in TestComplete 8 and 7" section of the "Migrating Projects Created in Earlier Versions to TestComplete 9" help topic for details.
If this doesn't help, let's try to investigate what is going on in your case - can you post here the problematic script lines and the exact texts of the errors?
