"Verification failed, the User is not logged in" problem

I am upgrading from ver. 8.70 to 9.3.  When setting up the Hosts tab, I can use the Verify button from the TC 8.70 Master and get a successful verification to one of the Slaves but with TC 9.3, I get error message "The user is not logged in on the slave computer."

I have reviewed the Help and the Forum and still no luck.  Same user, same password.  I have tried logging on the user on the slave and then running Verify but that did not help either.

Note, the Slave has two separate copies of the same project, one for TC 8 and another for TC 9.  Remote Desktop from Master to Slave with this user works ok.

Just do not understand why TC 8 works and TC 9 does not.

Any ideas?

thx!

  • Hi Mike,

Significant improvements were performed in the Network Suite feature in TestComplete 9. One of them is related to the logging in to the slave computer. Here is the quote from the "Features Added to TestComplete 9.0" article:

Opening user sessions on remote computers. The Automatic logon property of a network suite host has been replaced with a new Login mode property. It specifies the way TestComplete opens a user session on the remote computer. The following modes are available:

Manual - TestComplete connects to the user session you have opened on the remote computer manually.

Automatic (RDP Session) - TestComplete automatically opens the remote desktop session for the specified user on the remote computer. The remote computer remains locked.

Automatic (Console Session) - TestComplete automatically opens the remote desktop session on the remote computer and retargets it to the remote computer’s console. The remote computer remains unlocked.

Please make sure that all the options are set up correctly.

  • Thanks a lot! I've been trying to figure out how to force Teamcity to run  the agent  as not a system user and found the answer in that link! It is finally running my tests! Thanks a lot!
