The Object Does Not Exist

I've been trying to get this working for about 2 hours now and no luck! I can't seem to figure out what to do, even after reading endless documentation!



I understand that it can't find one of the parent objects, I think it is the "reviewActivityForm", but how do I resolve this issue. I have used wildcards in the past when windows are called "FormWindow2" for example, then I will change the Wnd name to "FormWindow*" for example. But I don't think it will work this time.

 

What do I need to do to get TestCompelete to recognise the textbox??

    I'm new to TestComplete and scripting, so the example they give doesnt make much sense to me, or I don't know how to use it yet.

    If I run this, the test fails. There must be another solution?

    Edit: Didn't see you had the Find method.

    Scratch that last post. The example they have provided in the help file doesn't work for me either. Let me investigate further :).

    Try this and see if it makes more sense. :)

    Your script works, but as I havnt done any scripting, I'm still lost as to how I convert this to find the textbox object in a Service Manager window form. I'll try and play about with the script, but its going to take a while...

    1) Manually open your application and set it to the state that is shown in your second screencap

    2) Run the snippet of your code that fails

    3) You should get your object not found error

    4) Run the exact same code snippet again

    5) Did it work this time?

    Let's analyze the reviewActivityForm mapped object: what mapping criteria are used here? 


     


    Judging by the screenshots, the Review Activity Template window contains the two tabs: Review Activity Form and Extensions. Check their mapping criteria, as well. You might need to use the Visible or VisibleOnScreen property with the True value in Name Mapping to make TestComplete work with the tab which is currently activated.

    I just recorded a test and it worked before during playback, now it does not. When I go to Name Mapping and edit the "reviewActivityForm" TestComplete pops up a window saying "Unable to find the object that matches "reviewActivityForm" item.



     


    Check their mapping criteria, as well. You might need to use the Visible or VisibleOnScreen property with the True value in Name Mapping to make TestComplete work with the tab which is currently activated.



    How do I use these properties in Name Mapping?

    Can you post here a screenshot of the Name Mapping editor demonstrating which properties and values are used to map the reviewActivityForm object?
