Update, this seems related to the NameMapping file. If we merge our 2mb NameMapping file with another team's 13mb NameMapping file (that was based on the same 2mb file) it ends up being a 35mb NameMapping file, and now the project takes 5 mins to open and takes 1.2 gig of ram. If I swap back to the old (now incomplete) 2mb NameMapping though, the project loads instantly and only takes 800mb of ram.

this other forum thread, it looks like merging NameMappings isn't supported yet? Even though there is a merge option in the software? :(
