reorganizing my project - completely delete tested apps

So I have a project suite. I am trying to share as much common stuff within the suite. I had not originally set the projects up this way. I have a project within the suite called SuiteCommon. There I have TestedApps.

In another project within the suite, I want to use the common set of tested apps. I deleted the previous testedapps. I performe Add / Existing Item on theproject. I navigate to the location on the file system where the suite common files are and attempt tp open the shared set of TestedApps.

I receive the attached error. How do I get rid of all reference to the tested apps for the project in order to use the shared?

So I want to take back that nevermind. I am creating a brand new project suite. I want to organize my suite. I have a project in which I store all shared test items. I have scripts, name mapping and tested apps. When I want to share those items into another project in the suite, I go to the destination project, select add existing item, then point to the file system where the shared objects live.

This works for scripts and name mapping. It does not for TestedApps objects. It won't add it because it exists elsewhere in the suite. But it is not  a suite level test item. It is a project item. Why does it not work the same as the other project items?

    Hi Stephanie,

Events exhibit the same behavior as TestedApps. While it's okay to reference common Scripts and NameMapping elements across multiple projects, Events and TestedApps apparently need to be defined at the project level. Though I don't use them, I'll venture a guess that Storages are also probably defined at the project level.
