we are planning to customize the report in TestComplete. Our requirement is that object name should be included in logs.
Example: if 'Employer' is entered in text field called 'Role' ( This name can be same as that one we maintain in Name mapping) , Then in reporting it should have "Role filed is inputted with Employer".
I was able to figure out most of parts except getting object name . Can someone help on this?
If you have the mapping then you likely have the object name as text in there somewhere. See the green highlighted part in this screenshot. You can use that in the text string that you are putting in the log.
This was my question too.. How can i retrieve the object details in my scripts. Also objects hierarchy will change for each page and objects . Does TestComplete have any inbuild methods to retrieve this?
Use the Object Spy to find the details for a given object. You can add the details into your script directly or insert them while filling out a wizard entry.
