    Hi,

When I relaunched my TC, it gave me error ' your Name Mapping file is not valid to use'

I haven't doe anything with the Name mapping file. Suddenly it started giving me the error.
  • Hi,

How is your Name Mapping file corrupt exactly? Can you describe the behavior you observe in detail?

If the file is physically damaged (overwritten, deleted, incorrectly modified by an external program, etc.), there's no way to restore it by using functionality TC provides other than creating a new Name Mapping scheme.
  • Hi,

OK, can you send us your Name Mapping (<project>\NameMapping\NameMapping.tcNM) file so that we can check what's wrong with it?
  • Isn't there any way to restore Name mapping to default?

I updated something and, the ones working correctly has been disrupted.

    Hi,

What do you mean by default?

Name mapping starts when you start working on a project.

Originally it's empty and collect object names and mappings while on the run.

As far as I know there is no versioning.

Best thing is to study whats gone wrong and correct it.

I had great difficulty with correcting once mapping gone wrong , before I had fully understood how mapping works. So started back-up name-mapping file time to time and still do.

  • Hi,

Default I mean to the point where everything was working correctly or be able to do some sort of Undo.

How did you back up the Name-mapping? Is it by copying .tcNM file and paste it back if something goes wrong?

    Thanks

    Yes, exactly so.
