For Loop doesn't work when End Value is coming from Table Variable

As the test I need to run may be run 1 to X I have put the current value of X into a table variable. It is currently set to 20.



In the For Loop I have selected the End Value as a current variable and have selected the proper variable from the Projects.Variables.Tour table.



When I run my script I get an error stating that the End Value is invalid, the value must be a numeric value.



I am running the 30 day trial right now and am evaluating this software.



Current Version: 8.20.538.7



Any help would be appreciated.

    It could be that, depending upon the table, the variable is coming back as a string and not an integer.  Try wrapping the value from the table in aqConvert.VartoInt to see if that works.

    I'll try that - can I do that in a KeywordTest or just coding?

    You can do that in a Keyword Test for loop.  You'd just set the end point of the loop to use a Code Expression and just input your variable designation and such in the line.  



    OR... use several Set Variable Operators and Object Method calls and then use Last Operator Result.  Several ways of going about it but it's doable in Keywords

    Still getting the same error.



    I have a Table (Tour) that has a Cell called NumTolls it has 20 in it.



    I have set the End Value to: aqConvert.VartoInt(Project.Variables.Tour("NumTolls"))



    When the For Loop runs it dies with "An invalid value is specified for End Value. The value must be a numeric value."



    Is there a way for me to view what the variable is when I hit a Break Point?

    I think I've figured it out.  Because you're not using the table within a data driven loop, you cannot necessarily call the value of the column as you are.



    Try





    aqConvert.VarToInt(KeywordTests.ForLoopFromTable.Variables.Tour.Iterator.Value("NumTolls"))

    That's very strange because, using the code above, it worked fine for me.



    Double check your table and make sure that the value in the collumn "NumTolls" in the first row is an integer value.



    Also, if you could upload screen shots of the various steps in the For Loop Operator configuration, just so I can see what you're selecting and where, that would be helpful, too.

    This is a single row table for testing items out. NumTolls has 20 as it's cell value.



    Attached are screen shots of the For Loop



    The Loop Variable - TollsCollected is just a variable set to 0.

    In the code expression replace "ForLoopFromTable" with the actual name of the Keyword Test you're editing.  Or, if the table variable is on the project level, change it to Project.Variables.Tour...  If you used exactly what I typed, it's probably not going to work at all unless your keyword test has the same name as the value I put in my previous post...

    OK - I got it now.



    I took out the KeywordTests.ForLoopFromTable and put Project in its place.



    So then the key to this was to take what I originally had (Project.Variables.Tour("NumTolls")) and change it to the following:

    aqConvert.VartoInt(Project.Variables.Tour.Iterator.Value("NumTolls"))



    This worked. Thank you very much.
