I am doing the evaluation of TestComplete for our regression testing. Currently I got stuck to make TC recognize the cell values in a gridControl.We use DexExpress controls in our .Net win form application. We use this.gridControl.MainView=this.gridView; We also implement textEdit and some other controls on gridView.All cells contain lookupedit controls remain unrecognized when I use table checkpoint (or property checkpoint). TC can only partly recognized the some cells' value. I use value1=View["GetRowCellValue"](row, state); value2=View["GetRowCellValue"](row, state)["Text"]; Log["Message"](value1); Log["Message"](value2);try to debug the test script, when th cell is a textedit object, the cell's value would be printed into log. But lookupedit cell is still unable to print out the cell's value in log.Does TC support DevExpress lookupedit control?Could you give me a list of supported DevExpress controls' name?Thanks

If so, you could try this: function getLookUpEditItems(lookUpEditCtrl) { var numItems = lookUpEditCtrl.properties_2.dataSource.count; var itemList = new Array(); for (var i = 0; i < numItems; i++) { itemList = lookUpEditCtrl.Properties_2.DataSource.Item(i).Item(1); } return itemList; } The line within the for loop in this example finishes with item(1) because that's the location of the item I'm looking for in the ItemArray property in my example. You'll be able to see what item number to return in your LookUp Edit control by referring to the ItemArray property at the same level. Bear in mind that it's zero-based. To demonstrate that the array has been populated with the values from your control, you can call the function like this: function tester() { var cboCtrl = <whatever your control is>; var ctrlItems = getLookUpEditItems(cboCtrl); for (var eachItem in ctrlItems) { Log.message(ctrlItems[eachItem]); } } I hope this is what you're looking for. These properties contain the name and version of the control, so you can find out whether the control is supported by TestComplete. If it is, try to reproduce the problem with a demo application that uses the supported Developer Express controls. To do this, run the <DevExpressDemos>\XtraGrid\Bin\GridMainDemo.exe sample, select the "Editing | GridLookUp Editor | Inplace" item and try to reproduce the problem with the grid that appears. I've been doing some testing on an application that uses the DevXpress LookUpEdit control (v10.2.5.0) and wanted to create a function that would allow me to select an item in the dropdown either by its text value or by its index. The function will return a 'True' if the specified item is found (it also selects that item) or a 'False' if it isn't found in the dropdown. If selecting an item by its index, the function will return an array, containing either 'True' and the selected index's text, or a 'False' togeher with an empty string. The idea here is that I simply wanted to be able to specify specifically what was selected in the log file. The function (in VBScript), looks like this:

Do you mean the info below? It didn't tell me whether TC supports DevExpress' lookupedit control. Maybe TC doesn't support it, and that's the reason I can't access the data from the table because some of the data are stored in lookupedit control objects.

Can you tell me where to get the <DevExpressDemos>\XtraGrid\Bin\GridMainDemo.exe sample?

If this is something that needs to be compiled from the Developer Express application, can you tell which configuration settings are needed? (<---- just repeating the developer's question when I asked him to do this a while back). ;)

The demo.exe programs used by the devexpress grid samples included with my TestComplete 8.10 installation (Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Test Complete 8 Samples\Working with Grids\...) does not exists anywhere on my hard drive. How do I obtain the demo programs so the demo scripts will run? WinXp Pro.

The Tested Application path currently coded into the script does not exist. There is no "DevExpress 2010.1 Demos" directory anywhere on my hard drive.

Does some devexpress distribution have to be installed for these samples to work?
