Creating events for wbemscripting (swbemsink)

I can't create an event handlers for wbemscripting.swbemsink.1 events. I've selected "C:\Windows\system32\wbem\wbemdisp.tlb" and checked the "Show hidden properties" option from Engines - General. The 4 functions I care about are appearing in the available list and I can add them to Events to handle, but clicking New to create the event handle gives this warning:



"Unable to create the event handler. Please make sure that the plug-in or the project item that provides the event is installed and enabled."



I've got an example of this type of test that worked in test complete as some point, but hasn't been running for probably a year. I don't see what I'm missing or need to add to the project.



I'm running TestComplete 8 on Windows 7, with vbscript.

    We have investigated this situation and found its cause. Workaround for the problem is to replace the %SystemRoot%\system32\wbem\wbemdisp.TLB value of the HKCR\TypeLib\{565783C6-CB41-11D1-8B02-00600806D9B6}\1.2\0\win32\ registry key with the C:\Windows\system32\wbem\wbemdisp.TLB value.
