The "magic" for this comes into not letting TestComplete remap the new item right away.  Instead of mapping the new item, I'd edit the existing NameMapping that is pointing to object 1 to match the new hierarchy of your application.  



Your test automation would always use the Alias while the NameMapping that goes on behind the scenes may change and flow with the application.
