Continue working while test runs

Hi,



here in my company we use TestComplete 6. However, now we need do some Web tests, so I have a question.  In TestComplete 8 can I continue working in the pc while the test runs? Or do I still have to wait the test finish in the local machine?



I am asking this because in selenium you can continue working while the tests runs in the browser and this would be very important for us. This criteria is the main point to make us decide between one or another tool. An I particulary prefer to continue with TC.

    Hi,


    Could you please clarify what you mean by "working in the pc"? What actually are you going to do? If you mean working with other applications by using the mouse or by simulating keystrokes while TestComplete's test simulates user actions over the web browser, then it is impossible. As far as I know, you cannot work with another application when Selenium runs web tests as well.


    However, as a workaround in TestComplete, you can run your TestComplete tests via Remote Desktop. In this case, TestComplete tests will be run on a remote computer, and you can control the test run from your computer and continue working with other applications as well.
