Comparision of PDF files with SVG: Scalable Vector Graphics

We have to compare a pdf file with holds some graphs (Scalar and vector graphics) and they are just not simple images.

 we do not currently worry of the relative location of the element in the PDF file but we would be interested in checking if the corresponding element is present .

Is there any way we could do this.

NOTE: We have manually validated one pdf file and this has been loaded to TC as a reference. It is against this reference pdf we want to compare the newly generated pdf.
