compare excel files

Is there still a script or file extension for comparing excel files as mentioned in this  article http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/9046/

Is it possible to perform comparisons with the latest version of excel without saving them in the old .xls format ?

Thanks,  Curt

Thanks Helen. The download link is not working.  Does this need to be installed as an extension?

I've gotten it installed.  It is not working consistently.

I am seeing multiple excel processes still running after trying to run a compare.

I am seeing a message "the object invoked has disconnected from it's clients" "Script vbs .line 116 column 2 "

    1) Is there any more documentation on objectExcel  other than what's in the article?

    2)   are there other methods?   do I need to close or quit the objectExcel after using?

    3) should I just use the Sys.OleObject instead?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Curt,

The comparison algorithm is implemented in the script extension you downloaded. To debug it or to extend it, you need to work with this TestComplete feature. Please refer to the "Script Extensions" article for details.
