Chrome Test Extension shows wrong version number

I did an update from test complete 12.40.2869 to 12.42.3048.7   When using test complete version 12.40, chrome version was 61. And in the chrome extensions page, i was clearly able to see the versi...

    Actually, 12.0.1 is the correct version.... so, my question back to you... is something, other than the version number, not working correctly for you when using Chrome and TestComplete?  If so, what?

    There was a problem when after the update, there were a pop-up stating that you have a version of a test complete extension, which is not supported by the browser. 

     

    And in addition to that, the change in the version number of the smartbear test extesion, from 12.40 to 12.0.1 did not make any sense.

     

    And there was no official documentation, to explain the released version numbers and such.
