Hi all, I am new to TestComplete and I am trying to find an easy way to capture text in a field (an ID) to re-use for a search later. Using Record and Playback feature on a .Net Desktop application. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

We have the following short video which outlines the steps involved to obtain the value (ID) from the screen and store that value against a variable which you could then re-use later in your test.

Hi Shane,
Thank you for this information. I tried this however, it didn't resolve my query - I think my query was not specific enough ( I didn't realize) but I am trying to get a value from a cell in a Grid/table. This method of Onscreen Object selects the whole grid.
Any other information would be appreciated.

What versions of TestComplete and .Net are you using?
Are you able to use Object Spy to see one cell in your grid?
Mistake made on my part .... below is what is installed
I am taking a guess at what kind of grid you have. Look in these sections for requirements for working with the grids and make sure you've been through all the setup.
