Capture and storage of text for re-entry in a KeyWord test

Hi all,  I am new to TestComplete and I am trying to find an easy way to capture text in a field (an ID) to re-use for a search later.  Using Record and Playback feature on a .Net Desktop application...

Hi Shane,

 

Thank you for this information.  I tried this however, it didn't resolve my query - I think my query was not specific enough ( I didn't realize) but I am trying to get a value from a cell in a Grid/table. This method of Onscreen Object selects the whole grid.  

 

Any other information would be appreciated.

What versions of TestComplete and .Net are you using?

 

Are you able to use Object Spy to see one cell in your grid?
