Browser is not found with TestExecute 10.4

I just upgraded some slave machines to TestExecute 10.4 and Sys.Browser(‘iexplore’)  doesn't work. Even though IE11 is open it is not found. I reverted back to 10.3 and the same code worked. I sent an email to support about this but I thought i'd post this as well to let people know and see if anyone else either had the same problem or doesn't have this problem. This is using TestExecute as a distributed test. I found running TestComplete 10.4 locally worked fine (the browser was seen). I didn't do any more investigation on 10.4 as I needed to revert and get tests running again.

  • Hi Adam and Everybody,

    This is a known issue in TestExecute 10.40. Our R&D team has already fixed it and uploaded a new product version to our server. The new built is TestExecute 10.40.2018. Please check the version installed on your computer (Help | About).

    If you face a similar issue described in this thread, you need to:

     - uninstall the current TestExecute version;

     - download the new installation package from your SmartBear Account;

     - install the new version.

    Let me know if you have any issues.

    Same problem observed:

    • Using 10.3 version (TestComplete and TestExecute), none problem observed.

    • Using 10.4 version (10.40.2015) (TestComplete), none problem observed.

    • Using 10.4 version (10.40.2015) (TestExecute), Sys.Browser('iexplore') doesn't work (error message : Unable to find the object Sys.Browser("iexplore")).

    ==> Using 10.4 version (10.40.2018) (TestExecute), successfully tested (none problem observed).

    I exactly experience the same issue. Will try the the TE 10.40.2018.

    Tanya, are there any other fixes included within TE 10.40.2018 ?

    Thanks,
