Automatically Updating Scripts Created in Previous Versions of TC

Recently I've upgraded to TC 9.1 from TC 9, and noted that after the upgrade, if I attempt to run a script created in TC 9, I get a message asking whether or not I want to convert the script to a TC 9.1 format. I would like to suppress this message, when running the script automatically. The way that I run my scripts makes use of a fresh install of TC/TE, and I launch the script via a command line parameter. I have been able to solve similar message suppression or config issues in the past by editing the tcsettings.xml file found in the bin folder of the TC install. I attempted to diff the file after clicking the "yes to all" button (when asked whether I wanted to convert at launch), but I don't see any entries to the xml.

Has anyone found a reliable way of converting scripts made in older versions of TC (aside from manually opening them)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Maciek

  • Hi Maciek,

Some significant changes were made in the Name Mapping and TestedApps features in TestComplete 9.10. I suppose, that is why, you are getting the request for converting. I think that it's not easy to revert the project back from TC 9.10 to TC 9.0. Anyway, you'd better contact our Support team and provide them with your project. Maybe our developers can correct it.

Tanya, I don't want to revert my scripts to 9.0 format... I just want to figure out a way to suppress the message that comes up when you open a script created in 9.0, in 9.1. I am ok with converting them, I just have a lot of scripts and am looking for a way to do it automatically or in a batch.
