Access wxPython CustomTreeCtrl

 Have an application that uses the CustomTreeCtrl in wxPython.and trying to figure out how to access it's properties/methods, or more specifically get a list of it's children.  Has anyone done this and had success?  I can map the object, but haven't yet been able been able to access/traverse the children.
