How do I report a website issue?

Because there is no avenue to report an issue with the website if one is a "free" user, I am resorting to posting here in the hopes that someone will see this issue that I am having with the Stoplight UI.

Even though the status page shows healthy, I am unable to view my docs in order to download my spec. I use the spec to build my API in the cloud, and this issue has halted all development. Of course, this is the worst possible time for the system to fail.

When I log on to the Stoplight web site, and select my project, I get a blank screen. I can edit the API fine, but the docs aren't loading as they normally do. Reloading the scree or using a separate browser yields the same result.

Any anyone look at this?

Thanks.

    Round 2

I tried to edit my API, and the UI showed an error. I was saving the name of an endpoint. It gave an error I've never seen before and asked me to reload.

Upon reloading, the entire API was wiped out.

I'd LOVE to get a reply. Unpaid customers can become paid customers, but not if your tool wipes out 3500 lines of swagger, and especially if there's no replies via the contact avenues available to us.

    Thanks.

    Screenshot. I can reproduce it.

  • To report a website issue, follow these steps:

    1. Identify the Problem: Clearly describe the issue you're experiencing (e.g., broken link, page error, slow loading).
    2. Locate the Contact Information: Find the website’s "Contact Us" page or a support email.
    3. Provide Details: Include a description of the problem, steps to reproduce it, the browser/device you're using, and screenshots if possible.
    4. Submit the Report: Send the details through the contact form or email.

If the site has a "Report a Problem" or "Bug Report" feature, use that.

Are you serious? Have you tried to do this on their site? Honestly, this sounds like an AI response.

I think I’ve provided enough info to locate the problem (as well as why I can’t do the things you suggest). After 30 years of coding, I’m pretty sure I know what I’m doing.

      But thanks for trying!

The short answer is, you don't ; I'm a relatively new customer to SmartBear and I've been blown away by how dead it is out of the gate. There is nothing resembling support, their 'roadmap' is mostly dead (or it's taken them 3 years to decide if they want to move a card from 'consideration'), and the community boards are mostly a handful of well intentioned individuals who, unfortunately, can't do much more than post troubleshooting 101 or advise to post to support (which will be a non starter.)

My advice is to find a new product if SmartBear products do not, in their current state, perfectly fit your use case, because as far as I can tell it will not be iterated on or supported.

Ed_H- Apologies, I didn't know SmartBear was the parent company.

Since I started this thread, I went from using the Stoplight platform daily to dropping it altogether. For any company to release a "free" version of something, there should be a way to report bugs. I can learn how to use the platform myself, and I'm OK with using a community to do so. But when a tool wipes out 3500 lines of code and a year's worth of work, then not working with the company to fix it is unacceptable.

This is too bad - aside from the bugs, I thought this was a good attempt to put a UI on top of OpenAPI. Since my project is just about over, I'll be relying on the Open API plugin in IntelliJ.

      Sorry Stoplight (or SmartBear).

I've been using Stoplight for 2 years - and as a paying customer. If I could find another product to do api documentation I would.

SmartBear is the community platform, I’m working with Stoplight, the API management tool.
