Website Testing
I'm very excited about getting started with TestComplete, and have downloaded and started using the Trial version. When I ran into trouble playing back a browser-based application (it appeared to record just fine), I started watching the videos on the site to see if I could figure out why it wasn't working. In one of the videos it said there is a web plugin I'd need which comes with the Enterprise version. Does this mean its not available in the Trial?
All for which I'll ever need TestComplete is web-based testing, so it would be nice to be able to evaluate against that in the Trial version. Or, is there something I'm missing that's preventing playback?
I've written to Support and informed them I was having trouble, but I'm eager to find a solution if anyone can assist.
Thanks!
Mike

- Hi Mike,
As far as I know the trial license is a 30 day named license enterprise licens:
What functional limitations does TestComplete trial version have?
So I doubt the problem you are having has to do with that.
It's hard to say what problem you are experiencing exactly as there could be a few reasons, but the top ones that come to my mind are:
- You haven't added the tested application to the tested apps node (see Recording Option Dialog check that Automatically add applications to the Tested Applications list is checked)
- You haven't installed some of the required plug ins
not sure what components are used in the web site under test, but see Testing Silverlight Applications - Required Plug-Ins as an example to the list of plug ins required to test silverlight applications
Other relevant info that might help:
recorded my actions successfully and the resulting script looks fine, but when I play it back to do the test, there is nothing happening in my test program, but the run result says OK. What is wrong?
Hope this helps.
