Problems trying to set values in groovy script

1) getNodeValues() returns a list of Strings, not nodes; put a log.info in the for() loop to be sure handle is the value you expect.

2) setNodeValue() will only set the value of existing nodes that match the xpath, not add new ones.

3) Wouldn't your loop only set one node value repeatedly? I think you would have to index the xpath :
//ws:addFromDocuments/srcDocumentHandleList[1], etc.

On the other hand I may be wrong.

Yes.

1. Returns a list of strings in an array. The for loop loops through this list and if I log it I see the 4 strings I expect.

2. Is there a way to add a new xpath to the request??

holder.setNodeValue( "//ws:addFromDocuments/srcDocumentHandleList", "TRYTHIS" )

also

def holder = groovyUtils.getXmlHolder( "addFromDocumentsCaseData#Request" )
holder.setNodeValue( "//ws:addFromDocuments[1]/srcDocumentHandleList[1]", "TRYTHIS" )


I can do
def holder = groovyUtils.getXmlHolder( "addFromDocumentsCaseData#Request" )
holder.getNodeValues("//ws:addFromDocuments/srcDocumentHandleList)

and if I set something by hand it will retrieve it so I'm wondering why the setNodeValue function is not working for me.

Any other ideas?

Can you post the actual XMLs you are working from?

Sorry, I meant the source XML for the 2 XmlHolder objects.

How about putting all the handles into a single property and using that as a property expansion in the request?

That was awsome.. Never thought to do it that way. Its worked great. It will also work better considering I will be having several thousands of these doc handles to deal with in the future.

I too was having the same problem that as I try to set property values using a groovy script without success, it runs without any error but the values are not getting changed. This thread has really solved the problem. I have followed the steps that McDonald told and the problem has vanished. Now the values are changing without any problem. Thank you so much for the corrected code provided and I will definitely share this forum with my friends and colleagues.

Currently I'm trying to use a groovy script to modify the "Auth" tab username / password fields at run time as for each request I need to change the username and password. Not sure how to go about accessing thes fields, and haven't seen a post that solves this issue. Any Idea's??
