1) Here's the link to documentation on integrating your Ready! API Projects with Maven.
2) The Jenkins Plugin only supports ServiceV at the moment, yes. It will not assist with the execution of functional tests.
3) If you're using Maven, you won't need to use the TestRunner. Information on Maven integration was provided in answer 1).
Thank you, SmartBearAmber - exactly what I was looking for
Hi,
I never tried jenkins plugin But below is my solution
install jenkins,
>>create new project, video is availiable in youtube. follow that
in the configuration you will find a box named Execute Windows batch command as below
now go to SoapUI and launch test runner for your project and in the output window you will get batch command to run your project as below
copy and paste it with modification required.
Hope this will help you...
Thank you, T3D - but unfortunately that doesn't help me much and here's why:
1) I've got a remote server machine (debian linux box) with Jenkins on it
2) The server box is soo secure that other than via Jenkins I don't really have access to it
3) With opensource SoapUI v 5.2.1 I could have a Maven project (which uses soap-ui-plugin to run SoapUI tests) and maven takes care of all those jar dependencies
NOW with your approach I'd have to copy the entire SoapUI NG Pro installation (140+ MB) onto the server - and I don't really have access to it: I won't be (easily) able to upload it and play with the config files.
What I did find on the official SmartBear page as for Maven plugin is way, way old and obsolete and applies to v 5.1.0
NOT to this fancy-flashy SoapUI NG Pro.
If you are using SoapUI Pro or SoapUI NG Pro, you will need a licensed version of the tool on your Jenkins machine to execute the tests.
SmartBearAmber, thank you for your reply but unfortunately it didn't tell me anything.
Could you, please, point me in the right direction and provide links on how to:
1) Integrate ReadyAPI 1.8.5 (SoapUI NG Pro) with Jenkins via Maven?
What I managed to find seems obsolete (v 5.1.1: https://www.soapui.org/test-automation/maven/maven-2-x.html) and doesn't even mention new flashy NG Pro which it considers version 6
I don't believe there's no Maven plugin specifically for ReadyAPI 1.8.5's SoapUI NG Pro
2) I found this Ready API Jenkins plugin: http://readyapi.smartbear.com/features/integration/jenkins/start
The doco says: "Ready! API includes a plugin for Jenkins which allows you to run Ready! API projects as part of your continuous integration. The plugin currently allows you to start and stop ServiceV Virts as part of your Jenkins build..."
The problem is - it doesn't work: Is it meant ONLY for ServiceV Virts not actual SoapUI tests?!
It definitely didn't execute SoapUI NG Pro tests.
3) testrunner.sh - is it really the only option? If so please give me an official guide on how to install TestRunner component (and this component alone without the rest of the 140+ MB of SoapUI NG PRO application) on Linux (debian) box
Most importantly: I saw those happy-happy & flashy-flashy sales pitches on how easy this new flashy NG PRO is to integrate with Jenkins - and almost 0 of real (not Promotional) information on how to do it.
PS yes I understand I'll need to provide the license files
