Updating Requirements via the Import tool

Hi there,

Is there a way to update existing requirement fields using the import utility?

Here's my scenario:

- export all requirements into a CSV file

- I've then made multiple changes to the requirements, some I have not changed at all

Ideally I'd like to import this CSV into QAComplete and have the changed requirements updated via the import.

I can't seem to do this...I receive a "Duplicate item found,
can not add row" error message.

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here..

  • Hi Don,

    No, you're not doing anything wrong.  The import is a one-shot deal: it's designed only for adding new records, not for updating existing data. And Requirements require that the title be unique, so you'll get that duplicate item message if the titles are exactly the same.
