Commit list is empty for 9.4 client GUI and validated Git repo

Hi,

I am unable to find any commits listed when attempting to upload a commit from a local (Win10 laptop) Git repo that validates successfully with my 9.4 client GUI.  Not sure what else I can do to debug the issue.  Is there a risk using a recent version of Git to create the repo with such an old version of the client GUI?  I understand that upgrading the revision of the server and client GUI is a likely solution, working that with IT.  However, I am looking for methods to debug the issue with the current revision I have available.
