Are there any characters that can cause Compare Properties to fail?
I am using the String THEquickbrownfoxjumpedoverthelazydog!@#$%^&*()_+1234567890-=-\|,./<>?;':"[]{}'` and TestComplete consistently reports on Compare Properties that my field does not contain this substring, even though it prints it back to me exactly the same Are there any characters that perhaps Compare Properties does not like? If I enter less special characters like THEquickbrownfoxjumpedoverthelazydog@#%then it usually works but I am afraid there are 1 or more characters that consistently causes this check to fail. Is it perhaps also the order of the characters?Solved526Views0likes2CommentsSelecting item in dropdown menu based on parameter
What is the most effective method of automating the actions of opening a dropdown and selecting the item that matches a provided Parameter, such as providing a Parameter for a Province/State dropdown and choosing the state that matches the parameter provided in the Keyword Test?Solved896Views0likes3CommentsRe: Compare text somewhere on screen is the same as test parameter
hkim5Thank you for you reply This seems like what I need, but the Property Checkpoint function requires that I type in a String under the "Value" to compare against, it doesn't allow me to select a variable to compare against. Is there a way to reference the Variable that I am not aware of? Is this achievable with perhaps the Compare Properties function on dynamic list of users? I have a Keyword test that generates a user with a name provided by a test parameter and adds it to a growing list. In order to make this dynamic, I want the test to check that the value of the parameter provided is the same as the name of the user generated in the application that I am testing. How can I check that somewhere on the page is text containing the same value as the parameter I provided? In this case, the name of the user generated is shown on screen and should be the same as the value of the parameter I providedSolved1.3KViews0likes4Comments
