Re: Compare Excel files - Object required: 'ExcelObj' (Run time error)
Ensure TestComplete sees the extension and it is enabled(may need to do a "Reload" on the File->Install Script Extension). I downloaded the extension and placed it under <TestComplete xx root>\bin\Extensions\ScriptExtensions for my test. If you have "auto-complete" enabled, the script object will appear in the pop-up when you type "Ex" or after "ExcelObj." you should be able to select either of the two functions. You should also delete the "\" in your filename string, it is not needed (Project.path typically returns a string with an ending "\")1.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Log.saveresult
I use the same type of naming conventions for logs (see shankar_rpost above). Has worked out very well for a number of years as (for those contemplating a strategy): You can easily identify the test You can easily identify the date/time of execution. Including seconds, as you have done as well, prevents issues with short test iterations that might be less than a minute apart. Just adding my two cents as to why this is a good strategy.2.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: svn connection
Just came across this as I finished troubleshooting on a subordinates computer and checking to see if any documentation already exists. The solution, if using TortoiseSVN, is to enable installation of the "Command Line" interface with Tortoise. The package within our corporate IT sites had defaulted this option to "no". "svn.exe" will only install as part of the "Command Line" options in Tortoise. The current online installer from the Tortoise web site has all options enabled. Hopefully, this helps someone in the future.1.4KViews1like0CommentsRe: A nubie question
I have done it just the opposite by integrating NI DAQMx drivers into TestComplete and coding the interface config and I/O read writes along with testing the Configuration Software.... As someone previously commented, it should be capable of executing/scheduling via TestStand. And, I concur, the endresult should be to execute your UI test via TestExecute. (Not tie up your IDE) I also code test applications via LabVIEW and may be able to help. Let me know...1.3KViews0likes0Comments
