Re: new unit not recognized by TestExecute 11
Hi cunderw No, I always add as New Item. I give it a name and create it, then fill with content. and save. But wait. In the meantime I made some more trials and TE finally found the unit. Perhapsthe solution is one of the following: - Initially I created a new script insubfolder of the Script folder (I have several subfolders inside the Script folder, e.g. Script/Tools). Now I moved the script directly to the Script folder and TE works fine. However, when I moved the new script back to the subfolder, TE still works. - I clicked "SaveAll" button. It seems logical, but I never done this before when I was adding, removing or renaming any units in the project. If I add a new unit, still "Save" button is disabled and there is no "*" symbol anywhere, so I cannot suspect that any change is not saved. On the other side, "SaveAll" is always enabled. So both ways above could solve the problem, but neither really make sense to me... I'm still not sure if there is any rulebehind this.899Views0likes0Commentsnew unit not recognized by TestExecute 11
Hi Everybody Since I updated to TestComplete 11 (along with TestExecute 11), I have problems whenever I add a new script to the project. I have a script (Script_1), from which I want to run other scripts. I create a new script (Script_2), which I want to run from Script_1. I add a reference ('USEUNIT Script_2) to Script_1. Then I copy all files from the project to the PC where I run TestExecute. When I run the test, I get Syntax error: "The USEUNIT section contains a reference to the 'Script_2' unit that was not found in the project." Any idea what I fail to do? I copy literally ALL files of the project suite, so how it is possible that TestExecute can't find new unit? I faced this problem some time ago and previously I tried different combinations of copying files - only modified scripts + Script.tcScript file, whole "Script" folder, whole project folder, whole suite folder. I deleted and added again the new script, etc... It sounds stupid, but eventually worked. But I couldn't find any rule for this, so I don't know what exactly fixed the problem. Now nothing works, I just can't force TE to find the new unit. Anyone knows how to cope with this? Michal923Views0likes2Comments
