Re: Assumptions must be < 300 characters error; only have 229 char
Thought maybe Word had some hidden characters coming along, to eliminate that, placed all 5 assumptions in Notepad on one line seperated by commas, QA Complete still doesn't accept (see attachment). If I place all of my Assumptions in notepad (so hopefully no magic hidden characters?) in one sentence separated by commas I have 196 characters (cursor at end of line shows Col 196). When this is pasted from notepad into the Assumptions on QA Complete it becomes 417 Characters and won’t save. Not sure where QA complete iscalculating these extra 221 (more than double orginal) Characters?2.3KViews0likes4CommentsAssumptions must be < 300 characters error; only have 229 char
I am trying to paste 229 Characters from Word into QA Complete in the Assumptions Section and receiving an error from QA complete when I try to save (see attached Screenprints). QA complete States 3082 characters Word states I have 229 char including spaces Have moved the cursor through the lines (line by line) in Test complete at the end of each line carriage control returns cursor to beginning of next line and doesn’t move forward after end of last line (doesn’t appear to be spaces between lines or at end of last line). Where are these 2853 other characters QAC thinks it has coming from?2.3KViews0likes5CommentsRe: Loading Chart. Please Wait, Chart never appears
If I recall correctly when I moved from my old laptopto my new laptop, using Windows Add/Remove Program, it prompted me if I wanted to completely uninstall, then it asked me if I wanted to deactivate License (and some verbage related tomoving to another machine). I am thinking I would want to accept the completly uninstall option, then choose to NOTdeactivate the license since I will be turning around and reloading the Test Complete back on the same machine I just removed it from. Does that sound correct? Thanks, Mark2.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: Loading Chart. Please Wait, Chart never appears
Thanks Cunderw, I have checked that, I have the flash player installed as well as enabled for my browsers via the following website and it stated it was using current Flash Version 20.0.0.306 (debug version), Browser name Internet Explorer (ActiveX), Operatring system Windows (Windows 7), and I can successfully viewthe animatedflash generated picture at the bottom of thewebpage with theclouds moving.I can see same thing with Google Chrome and Firefox just with different Browserappropriate Names listed. https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html On my old machine I was using Flash Version 19.0.0.245 (debug version).Don't believe the Flash Version should cause any issue unless there is some sort of issue with Test Complete utilizing the most recent Flash Player? Thanks for your feedback, do you or anyone else have other ideas of things to chcck or consider? Mark2.3KViews0likes4CommentsLoading Chart. Please Wait, Chart never appears
I recently received a new machine using MS7 64 bit OS with 8 GB of ram instead of my previous MS7 32 bit OS with 4 GB of ram. Had transfered Test Complete license over sucessfully and scripts appear to run, but have noticed if I run my scripts from my Organize Tests work area when they are complete they no longer are displaying my Pie Graph of what completed Successfully/Failed, instead I am seeing "Loading chart. Please wait". I have noticed the same thing if I try to displayresults (chart)of things I had run before machine switch and was previously successfully able to view the Chart (was able to confirm from historical image I attached in previously sent email). Are these Charts produced via Java? Noticed I have same version of java loaded on old and new machine (java version 1.7.0.67), noticed new machine was not able to see java version from command line "java -version" command so added the java bin path (; C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin)to my System variable path and now can see the java version via command line, Test Complete still doesn't load Charts. Any ideas of why my Test Complete is hanging with "Loading Charts. Please wait" and never displaying them?2.4KViews0likes6CommentsSetup Flash Injector to be able to Reveal Elements within Shockwave Flash/ Flash elements
Below are the Steps for being able to Reveal Elements within Shockwave Flash/ Flash elements Setup Flash Injector to be able to Reveal Elements within Shockwave Flash/Flash elements Test Complete will need to treat Flash Aps as an open Application; it will need the Debug version of Adobe Flash Player and needs to be configured in a special way for preloading the Flash Injector.swf file as documented in below steps. These Steps are from following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vBgokatzoU Need the debug version of Adobe Flash Player , can check what you have by using the following url from the web browser you are going to be testing with: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html Internet Explorer and other Flash Debuger Downloads : https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html Firefox flash debugger is located here, please install and recheck: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/20/flashplayer_20_plugin_debug.exe Chrome flash debugger: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-google-chrome.html#How_can_I_run_debugger_or_alternate_versions_of_Flash_Player_in_Google_Chrome Need to create a text file in your User directory under your named area (ex Users\mcfoesch) the text file needs to be named “mm.cfg” and contain a line similar to the following (which is the path up to and including your Flashinjector.swf file). PreloadSwf=C:\Program Files\SmartBear\TestComplete 11\Open Apps\Flex\FlashInjector.swf Go to the following website http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html and click on edit location dropdown and then Add Location and add a fully qualified path location (one directory above where your FlashInjector.swf file is located) similar to the following: C:\Program Files\SmartBear\TestComplete 11\Open Apps\Flex Make sure you have a check mark in front in the Always Trust files in these locations. Reboot your machine then open your Test Complete and you should now be able to reveal and utilize Flash embedded elements. Note: the following are other places that the Flash/Flex has settings are defined (these likely may not require changes): Test Complete - Tools | Default Project Properties from the main menu of TestComplete and then choose Project | Open Applications | Flash/Flex ß this allows you to 1) check box the Install FlashInjector at the beginning of test recording and playback and 2) checkbox Enable the Trusted Location The following location also has settings for: Global Privacy/Storage/Security settings, Website Privacy/Storage Settings, Protected Content Playback Settings, and Peer-Assisted Networking Panel http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html1KViews0likes1CommentRe: Importing of test cases to QA Complete from Excel
Where is the Search Button located? I have looked underall 10 of out tabs in QA complete and am notfinding a Search button?Couldsomeone please advise where this search button is located? Please see additional details below. I have imported some records using the instructions at http://www.softwareplanner.com/UsersGuide_SP/default.htm#UsersGuide_SP/Importing and Exporting Data.htm?Highlight=import I performed from the Setup Tab, Import, Import Wizard as advised in the instructions.QA Complete generated a success message on the screen as well as an email (see thread below) stating 19 records were successfully updated and assigned an Import ID = 5198348 but then when I try to locate the Test Cases that I imported it says I should be able to “allows you to query your information for that Batch number (using the Search button)” as found in the following instructions https://app2.qacomplete.smartbear.com/Common/ImportInstructionsEdge.htm From: Support@PragmaticSW.com [mailto:Support@PragmaticSW.com] Sent: Thursday, February 18, 2016 4:40 PM To: Foesch, MXXXSubject: Import Confirmation You have successfully imported 19 records into QAComplete with no errors.
