Upgraded project from TestComplete 9.20 to 12.42 x64 and lost the ability to Spy TextObjects
Upgraded project from TestComplete 9.20 to 12.42 x64 and now I am unable to spy TextObjects with the Text Recognition property "AfxWnd100u". During test execution I intermittently can get TextObjects from the testObj, however most times I only get some of the Text Objects on the screen. Any ideas what could be the problem?1.4KViews0likes6CommentsRe: TestExecute 9.2 seems to be Running out of memory and crashes.
I forgot to mention that i'm running JScript as well. We tried the collectgarbage calls with no help. Others in my group that run smaller Test items are able to run for 2 days or so.Theres seems to be a correlation between Each stop and start releasing memory since they run docens of smaller tests items for longer time. I tried upgrading to TE 9.3 and I'm giving that a try. I will also try to split my Test Item into smaller chunks to see if that helps. Hello, We are testing an Application running on Windows XP Pro SP3 Core2 6400 2.13Ghz 2GB ram machines. I have been monitoring the memory usage of TestExecute over time and it steadily climbs to 1.3GB and then TE stops working. Last run of a particular test item lasted 10 hours before it crashed. "TextExecute has encountered a problem in module tcCoreEx.dll and needs to close...." At the time I'm running a single Test item which takes 20hours or so to complete. The same scripts running on the same machine with Windows 7 and 4GB of ram does not crash. I have not monitored the memory on W7 yet, but maybe the extra RAM allows enough time for the script to complete. Any ideas?3.1KViews0likes6Commentsusing CallObjectMethodAsync to call a script function to simulate a thread.
I want to spawn a thread that will monitor a file while Testcomplete is running. Is this possible in Testcomplete 9.2 and Javascript? for example using this method passing a function on the script? Runner.CallObjectMethodAsync(Obj, MethodName, Param1, Param2, Param3, ...) Or anyother way where a separate thread can be spawned? Thanks. we are seeing testcomplete just wait if the application crashes. Freeze Diagnostics works sometimes but not in others. We want to monitor a log file and if we see no activity for a while we want to kill the tested application. We are hoping this gets TC moving to the next test. Thanks.2.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: TestComplete 9.2 locks-up during tested application error. (Does Javascript support threads?)
The Freeze diagnostics does not seem to be working in one case where the exception is caught by the application being tested. The application displays a dialog box with an OK button, TC just waits. After we dismiss the dialog the tested application restarts, TC only then wakes up. Again, does anyone know if its possible to spawn a separate thread within testcomplete to monitor our log file. If we notice that the log has not been updated within 10 mins or so, we can restart the application ourselves. I have not been able to find information on spawning threads in TC with Javascript. I have not tried the Timers because I assume that if the main thread its blocked by the crash then a timer will never be called. I could be wrong, any information would be great, Thanks1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: TestComplete 9.2 locks-up during tested application error. (Does Javascript support threads?)
