QA Complete - CSV Export encoding ?
Hi everyone, We started to use QA Complete in our company to replace our old tool for bug reporting (and also for all the others features). I'm currently developping a tool to make charts and statistics from the content of our old reporting tool, and our stats tool will have to take also in charge the database from QA. My problem here is that we use CSV exported files to get our data for the tool but since we're french we use accents on some character that mess up with the export from QA Complete. The special characters end up like this one : "à" and since our separators are ";" the data in column and row are not corrects. So my question here is : Does anyone know what is the encoding used in CSV Export from QA Complete ? Can we change that encoding from QA complete in an option ? TL;DR : CSV export messed up, what's the encoding used for those exports ?1.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: Unable to spy text and image
It could be that the objects that you try to access in your form are "hidden" for the users. I had a toolbar with buttons that I couldn't map because we were in a case of blackbox testing (BlackBox/Whitebox testing). In our case we could access to the items of our toolbar but not their properties with the wItem property of our toolbar. Try to seek from the properties of your form if you can see the objetcs in it with either child or Item properties. You will maybe not be able to map those objects but have access to them and interact with them through your form properties. Hope that will help, and sorry for the bad english, Nassim1.7KViews0likes5CommentsRe: How to add "[Enter] (Fail error for case is Window is invisible)
Just to be sure, you didn't use quote when you were instantiating "U38158[Enter]" ? If it's the case then your error can come from this, when using the Keys method, you should just enter the value of your Keys actions without quotes or anything else or it will take your keys action as the string to enter and not the action. Hi, You can just scroll down your page before trying to click on your field, that should do the job. But you can also test the visble() property of your object with the [If object] test action and if it return false to you, scroll down your page. Hope that will help, Nassim1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Cross browser issue in Demo version of TestComplete 10.40
I don't think that you objects are changing really. If I have to guess, I should say that, maybe your properties used for map your objects only exist for IE, try to open a console in Chrome(F12 in Chrome) or Firefox and inspect your application's elements that fail to be recognized and see if they got there the properties used for your name mapping. If you can't find them, then we can assume that those properties used for mapping are generated by IE (just like in Win objects ControlID and WndClass are generated automaticaly). If that's not the case then, sorry but I don't know much than this, EDIT: I didn't think about it but, do you wait for all your elements to be loaded before testing them ? If it's not the case, before testing an object do like this in your keyword test : While...Loop(my.object.exist() == false ) { delay(t) } Hope that can help you, Nassim820Views0likes0CommentsRe: Getting "object doesn't support this property or method" - doesn't make sense?
Are you really sure that your my_mapping.object() point to your object for which you try to call the Click() method ? As you explain your problem it seem that you object support the click() method but your my_mapping.object() not, so we can assume that maybe your mapping properties for this object can return several objects or to another object and that when you call the click() method, the method is called on a different object that doesn't support the method. To validate this theory, you can try to highlight your control from the mappedName file and see what TC return to you.2.5KViews0likes0CommentsMap a "popup" window ?
Hi everyone, I'm currently testing an application and I have a window that goes to exist when we click on a button, however, we don't need to have the mouse on this window for it to stay open. So here what I want to do is map the objects inside this popup window, but when I use the "Map Object from Screen" to do so, I can't. I'm currently using the Point and fix option, but since Testcomplete minimize himself before the pointing and restore itself after the pointing, my window disapear during the time between the pointing and TC to restore itself. I noticed that when I use the UI Spy, the window of the Spy overlap my window where I search for object, this overlapping allow me to capture all the properties from my popup without having her to disappear because TC windows restore herself. So my question is, does we have a trick to map those popup objects ? Can we use the map tool as the same way my UI Spy behave itself ? Thanks for the help,861Views0likes0CommentsRe: Cross browser issue in Demo version of TestComplete 10.40
Hello, More informations will be usefull here, what is your error message ? What do you try to perform at the instant where the error is raised ? Your error could also be that your version of TC is not patched for the versions of Firefox and Chrome that you are using. It can be that because TC recognize your objects as UIA, it does'nt have access to the Win properties used during your name mapping. You should try in tools > current project properties > open Application/General to Move Up the "NativeMSAA" at the top of the priority of objects instead of the "NativeUIAObject". Testcomplete will most likely recognize after that your objects as Win objects instead of UIA objects. Hope that will help you,2.3KViews2likes0Comments
