Application crash dumps - full dump
I'm trying to get a full dump of an application crash that seems to only occur when TestComplete is running the test. The problem is that the dump is a mini-dump instead of a full dump. I've followed the instructions onhttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb787181(v=vs.85).aspx, but I think TestComplete is bypassing those registry keys. How do I tell TestComplete to capture the full dump?5.3KViews0likes2CommentsMerge support and forums
This is a request to do some level of merging of forum posts and support requests. Frequently I see a discussion started on the forums that I am interested in, but the discussion stops as soon as the original poster is directed to contact support. After that happens, the community never sees the results. This leads to a forum that contains very few solutions to the more complicated problems, and probably to a SmartBear support team that gets a lot of duplicate requests. A solution to this would be if we could conduct our support requests on the forum instead of through a web form / email. That way solutions would be available to all. Some of my tests are failing when I run them via a command line, and the exit code returned is1073807364. The list of valid exit codes (http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/29729/) does not include this number. What does it mean? When I rerun the same command later, it works fine.31KViews0likes2CommentsRe: TC9.1, IE9, and the Download Manager.
First, because I didn't realize that was an option :) Second, because this is in code shared by many projects, and having it rely on specific project settings makes it much harder to work with. It'd be nice to be able to temporarily turn on the MSAA settings in the script.1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: TC9.1, IE9, and the Download Manager.
Here's some code I wrote to interact with that window. Even though it uses pixel locations to click on the buttons, I've found it to be very stable. There's only two ways the bar is displayed (excluding when the window is so small that the buttons don't fit), and those two ways can be detected by the object's height. Note that this code is part of a larger framework I'm using, so it won't work without some modification. //****m* WebInterface/Web_Tab_Obj.prototype.IE_NotificationBar_ClickButton // PURPOSE // Clicks a button in the notifcation bar in IE. // SOURCE Web_Tab_Obj.prototype.IE_NotificationBar_ClickButton = function(button) { var bar = this.IE_NotificationBar_Get(); if (bar.Exists && bar.Visible) { switch (aqString.ToLower(button)) { case "close": bar.Click(bar.width-15, 22); break; case "open": if (bar.height > 54) bar.Click(bar.width-200, 55); else bar.Click(bar.width-222, 23); break; case "save as": //open save drop down if (bar.height > 54) bar.Click(bar.width-94, 55); else bar.Click(bar.width-115, 23); Delay(999); bar.Keys("a"); //select save as break; default: Log.Error("This button hasn't been implemented yet"); } } else Log.Error("Notification bar did not exist"); } //****1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Modern javascript please?
JSON is part of it, but it's really access to everything available in modern javascript. Looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JScript, I believe that TestComplete is using a version earlier than 5.8 (JSON was introduced in version 5.8). The version of JScript we'd really like to use is 9.0, which was introduced back in March of 2011 with IE9, and includes things like Array extras, array comprehensions, and expression closures. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECMAScript#Version_correspondence for javascript versions - upgrading from the old version of JScript to version 9.0 would gain us everything introduced in javascript versions 1.6 through 1.8.3.6KViews1like0Comments- 3.6KViews0likes0Comments
