Re: Testcomplete suddenly shutdown in the middle of the test excecution
Yes, I have also had somewhat similar problems. I'm running TestComplete 9.31. In my case, I have Windows Scheduler launch TestExecute and start the test run on a remote test machine several times per week. It starts at 10:30 pm and finishes about 7 am the following morning. Most days it works fine, but on Saturday morning it stops somewhere between 2 am and 2:30 am. This has been happening for several weeks at least. TestComplete logs show that the last test item completed successfully, no errors are shown on screen or in logs, and I haven't found any unusual entries in Windows (7) system event logs, or even any log entries that are common to the different failures. No Windows Updates or defrag is going on in the test computer at the time. It's like the test run just ... stops. I don't know of any other logs to check, and because of the long running and auto scheduled nature of the process it would be difficult to use Report Generator. I'm pretty much down to 'don't use that machine on that day' as a resolution :/797Views1like0CommentsRe: No external TDS file for 64 bit in Delphi XE2?
Hi Alex, We did end up using StripTDS to extract the debug information. I don't know why Delphi removed this capability for x64, it seems like a step back to me, but StripTDS seems to work and TestComplete can see the debug data now. We're still in early testing stages so we'll see how it goes. Thanks! Allen1.1KViews2likes0CommentsNo external TDS file for 64 bit in Delphi XE2?
We're starting to move our Windows application to 64 bit support, but when this configuration is selected in the project our Delphi XE2 compiler disables the 'Place debug information in separate TDS file' option and says it is only available for 32 bit. We can run with internal debug information for a while, but does anyone know if a later Delphi edition allows external TDS files again? Or is there a workaround? Hello all, I have my test items grouped, and in my OnStopTest handler I want to determine if the current test item I just completed is the last one in the group. I tried the following syntax (Delphiscript), but get 'The parameter is incorrect'. if Project.TestItems.Current.Name = Project.TestItems.Current.Parent.TestItem(Project.TestItems.Current.Parent.ItemCount).Name I verified that Project.TestItems.Current.Parent.ItemCount is returning the correct value (e.g. 6). I'm sure I'm missing something basic but I'm not seeing it at the moment, what's the proper syntax? If there's an easier to do what I need I'll take suggestions also, obviously this way relies on the last item in the group always being enabled. Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has come up with a way to capture/publish just the pass/fail result counts from TestComplete at the end of each test run? I'm already publishing the logs in mht format, but they're over 20mb each unzipped (and that's with very few screenshots), so they're unwieldy for doing quick comparisons. I would like to capture just the top level numbers for a lightweight dashboard. I know QA Complete can do this, but I can't justify the expense just for this one piece of functionality. Thanks. Sorry, I never updated this posting. This turned out to be a PEBKAC error with the UI: I had accidentally closed the filecomparison detail window at some point in the past, and had to do some searching to find the appropriate button to restore it. After that it works OK.525Views0likes0CommentsSource control experiences in TestComplete
Hi all, I'd like to get some feedback on what your experiences have been with source control in TestComplete. What's been an easy integration, and what has a steep learning curve? I currently have my source in CVS, and maintain versions externally to TestComplete. Now I'm looking at starting a long term integration project with an overseas team, and for various reasons I don't want to use CVS. I can probably get access to our corporate Microsoft Team Foundation Server (although I'm not familiar with using it), or deploy my own source control system, in which case ftp would be the primary sharing method. Fast and distributed would be nice, but I've already determined that git + ftp + Windows + TestComplete doesn't seem to be a good combination. Thanks. Hi all, I'm dumping some tree data from our application to a text file (TC 9.2), and comparing it to a previously stored example of the same data in the Files storage. But when I compare the two files using the Check method, if there is a difference, clicking on the 'Show comparison results' link just goes to a blank screen, instead of showing a line by line diff of the two files. Any idea why this might be the case? I am not using a file extension on either the new or old file, is it required to be a .txt for this to work properly? I can see the text contents in the Files object with no problem. e.g. Files.StoredFile.Check(NewFile) File contents look something like this: |Clay Bar (MPL)|Clay Bar (MPL)|4|1|EA|true|Order|Discrete|1|SA||true |Clay Bar (MPL)|Clay Bar (MPL)|4|2|EA|true|Order|Backflush to Work Order|2|PP||false7.5KViews0likes2Comments
