Bug(?) in the TestComplete clone procedure
In my tests I use a lot of shared routines. I use a special folder for the shared script files. When I use TestComplete 9 to make a copy of an project the shared files are no longer copied (as it used to be in earlier versions). This really makes me happy. Now the bad part of the story. Because I use a lot of shared script files I also use one shared namemapping file. I store the namemapping file is a dedicated folder. When I make a clone of an existing project the shared namemapping file is nicely integrated in the new project. However, when I save the project suite and re-open it I get a message that some information is missing. The missing information is the namemapping that seems to be removed from the original project. I can manually repair this by deleting the missing namemapping in the project tree and then add it again but this is a time consuming annoying procedure. I also noted the following related problem:hen I try to make a second clone of the original project TestComplete reports an interface problem and doesn't create the new cloned project.18KViews0likes1CommentFeature request: Make the option "use test visualizer during run" programmable.
I use the "use test visualizer during run" option in my test scripts to generate screen captures as part of the test evidence (I export the log as last step in my tests). In some tests there is a loop which is executed more than 50 times (sometimes up to 200 times). Often I'm only interested in one image out of the many images generated for each iteration. Is it possible to implement this feature in version 9 of TestComplete? Note: If it is currently possible I did not find it in the documentation.17KViews0likes2CommentsRe: VB 6 applications seem to crash more often with TestComplete 8.5 than 8.2.
Hi Allen, Good to know that you managed to reproduce the issue. Unfortunately I cannot supply you with the information you are asking for. We are executing the final tests for a product this month. I do not want to 'experiment' with my test PC until the tests are finished. I'm trying to develop a test script to verify that menu items are correctly enabled and disabled. The tests fail with the following additional information. Object: Property: Enabled Expected value: true Actual values: true The Delphi script code (after removing some statements) leading to the above is: procedure VerifyPrivileges(Menu, IsVisible, IsEnabled); forward; . . VerifyPrivileges(Aliase.frmMain.mnuHelp, true, true); . . procedure VerifyPrivileges(Menu, IsVisible, IsEnabled); begin log.message(Menu.name); // The name of the object is correctly reported. // Other statements commented out // aqObject.CheckProperty(Menu, 'Enabled', cmpEqual, IsEnabled); end; Note: The tested application is written in VB6. I use TestComplete 8.6.22KViews0likes3CommentsRe: VB 6 applications seem to crash more often with TestComplete 8.5 than 8.2.
Hi Allen, I'm happy to know that you make progress solving this issue. Your last remark "Good news: we have some results on the problem and it is likely to be fixed in the next product update. ", makes me wonder when I can expect that update and if the solution is part of that update. Hi Allen, I downloaded the profiler package. However, because we are close for a release, I'm not sure I will have time to collect the requested information in the next 3 weeks. I reverted to TestComplete 8.2 and I'm running muy tests again without further problems. Regards, Herman1.5KViews0likes0Comments
