Exclude node name from xmlCompare
I do compare many output reports of my application with XMLCheckpoints to compare the content. With most of these reports the variable parts can be easily excluded by excluding the according node from the comparison. For some reports that does not work though, as the main node names (e.g. Thisname jan 2011) is variable itself and contains a static part and a date part, where the date partis variable. I cannot just exclude the whole names, as there won't be anything compare if I did. Is there an easy way to use xml checkpoints and excluding the name of the node from the comparison (but keep all the subnodes within the comparison)?17KViews0likes1CommentDisable debugger
I am a developper novice and never programmed lots. Before our developper helped me with some problems, my code run quiet. He started debugger to find some problems but now whenever I run my tests, the blue background is running through the code and I haven't found a way to stop this. But it slows down my tests quite a bit. I tried disabling the button "enable debugging", I checked in Internet explorer for the "disable debugging" as stated in a differnt forum, nothing helped tho: As soon as I start the test, I am running automatically through the code and automatically open all the test script pages, which I have to all close them again in order to find the one I need. How do I stop this?14KViews0likes1CommentProblems with Code Explorer in TC 8
I am working often with Code Explorer Tab in Testcomplete. Since I updated to Version 8, Testcomplete often crashes when working with that tab, e.g. when I use Code Explorer to navigate to a piece of code and copy and paste it to a different position. Also Code explorer tab automatically loses focus, when I double click the code I wish to work with. Is that intentional, a general problem or is my environment the problem? I never had those problems before upgrading from 7.5 to 8.13KViews0likes6CommentsExpanding Tree control
I am working with an application that uses Infragistics controls 6.1 for tree views. All tries I did, according to help and forum suggestions,to expand all the whole tree in order to select a specific node were not suggessful so far. The full name of the tree control is defined as: Sys.Process("Application").WinFormsObject("UserManagementWizard").WinFormsObject("wizard").WinFormsObject("pageOrganizationSelection").WinFormsObject("ctrlTreeOrganisation").WinFormsObject("pnlMainView").WinFormsObject("ctrlTree") To access children it looks like the following: Nodes.Item(0).Nodes.Item(1).Text.OleValue Any try to add an .expand behind a certain node or item just lead to an error in code. Does anybodyhave any suggestions?11KViews0likes2CommentsDynamic Properties
I am working with a .Net application and the widows are supposed to be ordinary windows objects. In my application I register a new User and I get a confirmation window with the name of the user and its User ID. For the displayed window itself it is mapped as Aliases.Appl.dlg. And no problem to access. But the text on it seems to be a child and maps as: Aliases.Appl.dlg.Static1 where the number changes each time I run the procedure. TC refuses to compare the text.(The object does not exist). My code is: Call aqObject.CompareProperty(Aliases.Appl.dlg.WndCaption, cmpEqual, "New User Created", True) Call aqObject.CompareProperty(Aliases.Appl.dlg.Static1.WndCaption, cmpEqual, "A new user has been created."&Chr(10)&"The user name is: xx", True) Aliases.HSE.dlg.btnOK.ClickButton First and last line work fine, middle one does not: The object does not exist. How can I make the code independent of the dynamic part?15KViews0likes1Comment
