Get and Evaluate Response of Batch-Script as Tested App
In some cases it is useful / necessary to run a batch script from Testcomplete. Unfortunately Testcomplete can't get back the status code from the batch file to get the information if the script was executed successful or not. In many cases it would be useful to get back the status code at the keyword level of Testcomplete, for example: - execute a program to do some taks as pre condition for the following teststeps - execute some testcases with a batch file that can't be executed by Testcomplete directly, like python testcases with the pytest framework549Views1like1CommentContinue execution of testcase after an error?
Referenced on my feature request (https://community.smartbear.com/t5/TestComplete-Feature-Requests/Option-to-continue-a-data-driven-test-case-after-one/idc-p/234329/emcs_t/S2h8ZW1haWx8bWVudGlvbl9zdWJzY3JpcHRpb258TDNMUjFFREhTNjhCRjF8MjM0MzI5fEFUX01FTlRJT05TfGhL#M2612) I would like to know if there is any possibility to continue the execution of a data driven test if an error occures in the testcase. Actually the testcase stops when an error occurs and at this point I dont know if the testcase would succeed with the other following testdata sets in the data drivenloop. On top of that is there any possiblity to split the log-output on every iteration of the data driven loop?465Views0likes1CommentRe: Data-driven testing generates explicit test case with test results for each row in testdata file
Marsha_RI already connected with the customer support and they told me that its not the workflow of datadriven testing at the moment and I should create a feature request here.669Views0likes0CommentsOption to continue a data-driven test case after one specification of the testcase fails
Currently, the test data-driven test case aborts as soon as an error occurs in one execution, which means that all subsequent test data sets will no longer be executed and the data driven test counts as "completely failed". It would be an improvement if you could specify via an option that the test case continues its execution with the next test data set after an error occurs. At the same time, the log output of a test data-driven test case must be adjusted in such a way that the execution and the result for each test data set (row of a testdata file) are viewed and displayed separately in the log file in order to be able to identify exactly with which test data the test case failed.805Views0likes2CommentsData-driven testing generates explicit test case with test results for each row in testdata file
Using the test data-driven approach, a separate executed test case with test result should be generated for each row in a testdata file. In addition, the name of the test case specification should be able to be defined via an entry in the test data record to separate the single specifications of the generic testcase.693Views0likes2Comments
