Not sure what this question is getting at.
You can have them auto created as part of recording a test.
You can map them from the Object Browser with a right-click context menu
You can map them from the screen using the mapping tool.
Is there anything specific you're looking for?

Why automate? I do automated testing because there's only so much a human being can do and remain healthy. Sleep is a requirement. So, while people sleep, automation that I create does what I've described above in order to make sure that nothing gets past the final defense of the testing group.

I personally use the "green plus sign" in the option to spy on objects.
This is a very convenient way to add new values to NameMapping and Aliases. If you are at the beginning of your adventure with TestComplete and (with NameMapping) definitely read about the correct way to store objects in NameMapping.
Adding everything to this .xml file is a trap 😉
