Transport failed to connect to the server while trying to send email from TestComplete

Hi ,

I am trying to send email from TestComplete using the CDO configuration.

I used the same code using Javascript found here https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/scripting/sending-email-from-scripts.html#CDO

When I execute i get error Transport failed to connect to the server. I was trying to smtp-mail.outlook.com and smtp.office365.com with the default port and also corresponding port number used in my company.

I tried ping and telnet command to the smtp-mail.outlook.com and smtp.office365.com and both worked. But I am not sure why I get the transport failed to connect to the server error. Please help should I do some firewall settings or opening up some ports or am I missing any other configuration ?

I Got 2 kinds of error messages,

1). The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x800ccc60. The server response was +OK The Microsoft Exchange POP3 service is ready.

2). Transport failed to connect to the server.

I'm not sure about CDO configuration but sending mail "Via Microsoft Outlook" example is out of date to work with office 365.

as per @Marsha_R better to contact support team

Hi ,

Has anyone tried this , sending mail using smtp.office365.com , I tried recently and again I face the same issue as Transport failed to connect to the server (only this message , no stacktrace). Any idea what this error message really mean ?.

I tried ping and telnet to port 587, 25 everything seems to be working fine. or is there any other ports or firewall settings needs to be changed ?

Thanks !

It may not be the same error, but here's a topic that involves using CDO to send e-mails using office 365.  See if this helps.
