What mobile platform you are working with? iOS or Android?
TestComplete documentation mentions Text View for iOS (Text Edit control, https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/app-objects/specific-tasks/ios/text-field/getting-te...) but not for Android.
In case of Android, is this a native control or custom one? If the latter, then ask developers what native control it was derived from.
