TestComplete Professional purchase does not include bitbar?

Our company purchased testComplete for the ability to test our mobile applications.

It has just come to our attention that this is falsely advertised?

We pay $5000 for the license and now find that in order for us to actually perform the mobile testing, we ALSO need to purchase access to bitbar?

This seems quite unfair to require us to pay twice.

  • Hi rjoyce

    This is not true.

TestComplete allows you do mobile testing without BitBar.

You can run tests on real devices and emulators using TestComplete,  however BitBars offering alleviates the pain associated testing against real devices ensuring appropriate test coverage given it provides a farm of real devices to test and scale your mobile tests on.

So to be clear, you only require a BitBar license if you want to test on BitBar devices. If you have your own devices you do not need a BitBar License.

just my opinion, you could just try some free open source tool to do the same kind of testing and spend your money on those real mobile devices

it will be a pain to do mobile testing with test complete, the number of configurations and crazy stuff you'll have to make just to make the most simple test work will not be worth the money
