Physical computer detected as a virtual machine

I'm trying to activate a fixed user TestComplete license on my Windows laptop.

The license management application on my computer claims that it detected a virtual machine instead of a physical computer.

 

Why does the license management app see my laptop as a virtual machine, and how do we fix this?
