PDF reports in my web app
So reports are exposed in PDFs withing my web app. I search and find
https://support.smartbear.com/articles/testcomplete/testing-pdf-files-with-testcomplete/
Which uses a java library and refers to features in TestComplete that are only available with the Desktop license.
What does a web tester do to test PDF reports? Anyone? Thanks

The best suggestion I have is to open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat and use some sort of TextRecognition or OCR tech to examine what's on screen to validate the data. The alternative is to still use Acrobat but then use Region comparisons.
It might be worth opening this up to SmartBear support. It seems a little problematic that the JavaBridge is only available for Desktop modules. Perhaps they can help out with something for you?

Why automate? I do automated testing because there's only so much a human being can do and remain healthy. Sleep is a requirement. So, while people sleep, automation that I create does what I've described above in order to make sure that nothing gets past the final defense of the testing group.
