Object Browser wont expand
The Sys object in the object browser will not expand. However, the Sys object will not expand. If I attempt to find a name mapped object it will be unable to, or if I try to find an object in the tree through the object spy tool it will cause the application to freeze. Though when I try the desktop sample project it seems to be able to recognize the created application and expand, it only recognizes that object. So overall it seems to not recognize pretty much any process that's running? Any ideas on what may be happening.

Yes, if the sample is ok then you need to make sure that you've done the proper setup for testing your app. Are you doing desktop or browser testing?

It is for browser testing. But it used to work fine and would be able to find any process running. The desktop sample was the only time where I could find it recognizing anything after it stopped finding anything else, and even then it only recognized the application that was made and not any other processes going on.

Okay, "used to work fine" is important. Without telling us that, it sounds like you've never had it work right and that's a different problem. It's better if you give all the information you have about a problem instead of the least amount. We can get to your answer quicker that way.
Now, what changed right before this started happening? Did you upgrade TestComplete? Did your app get updated? Is the test running on a different machine than before? Did you upgrade the browser?

It probably would have been good to include that in my initial post but it can also be hard to figure out exactly what information would be relevant to a problem if you do not know what might be causing the problem. But the machine that it is being tested on and the TestComplete version are the same as when it was previously working. The Browser has most likely updated and the webpage being tested has been updated however I would not think those would be directly related to TestComplete not recognizing any other processes running. As for a change on the machine that is using TestComplete that might cause some kind of issue...that might be a possibility if applicable in this situation.

You also mention that it's a browser application. Which Browser are you trying? Have you tried other browsers? Chrome auto-updates rather frequently as does Firefox so, if you haven't patched recently for those two browsers, you may get that error. Why automate? I do automated testing because there's only so much a human being can do and remain healthy. Sleep is a requirement. So, while people sleep, automation that I create does what I've described above in order to make sure that nothing gets past the final defense of the testing group.

I test on both Chrome and IE and I am aware of Chrome updating and it needing patches, but it does not seem to recognize and processes running including any browser. Also, I think I've had that problem in some cases but TestComplete would still recognize Chrome as there just not recognize anything going on in it.

Well, that version of TestComplete is what I have and the Object Spy is working fine for me.
If it was me, I would backup my project and then try uninstalling and reinstalling TC in case something got corrupted.
