Nodelock to Floating license Upgrade

Is node lock to floating license upgrade activity one time ?

We got our upgrade last year from node lock to floating license.

I guess this upgrade was an one time activity. Any thought if we need to just renew floating licenses ?

Any expert who went through such scenario can suggest
