Is it possible to update NameMapping IMAGES when actions are performed run time

I have a number of objects in my NameMapping that have no image associated with them. For the majority, this is just ducky. I wonder, though, if it is possible to update NameMapping images for those images that are executed against run time?

Hi @vthomeschoolmom,

Could you please check if this is what you are looking for?

Looks promising. I will let you know if this is what I needed.

This is not what I mean. Per my exploration and the documentation"Images captured during test recording are shown in the Test Visualizer panel below the keyword test or script editor:"

I am looking for the images corresponding the the nodes in the NameMapping editor.

Hi @vthomeschoolmom,

Ah. Sorry.

I see that it's possible to update images in Name Mapping from the context menu. Could you please check this?

That works but is not what I am looking for. As an event occurs on an object, I want the image to update.

I don't believe such an option exists.  You can try under Options -> Engines -> Name Mapping.  There's an option to update Name Mapping during the test run. This is an option that you should only check during the development process as it interrupts execution requiring human intervention.  But I don't know if that option will update the images.

To be honest, while the images for NameMapping are useful in making sure that the option you have mapped is the object you intend, I haven't found a practical use for those images during an actual test execution.  In fact, in our environments, we don't store the images.

Hope you find an answer.

Why automate?  I do automated testing because there's only so much a human being can do and remain healthy.  Sleep is a requirement.  So, while people sleep, automation that I create does what I've described above in order to make sure that nothing gets past the final defense of the testing group.

I agree that the images are not useful AT run time. I wanted unavailable images to update during run for the sake of debugging. BUt there is no option it seems.

Images captured at RunTime for debugging is precisely what the "Visualizer" feature is for.  It allows you to see what components are interacted with during the test run.

Yes, I agree that is what that feature is for.  That is not the feature I am looking for. It seems the feature I am looking for does not exist. Thanks.
