Delay between test cases when running tests from TFS

Hello,

I have noticed that when running tests from TFS, it takes approximately 10 more minutes, compared to running the test directly from TestComplete application.

Meaning when running the tests from TestComplete application it takes around 20 minutes in order to run all the tests. But if I run the same test cases from TFS, it takes about 30 minutes.

I found this topic, but want to be sure where this delay is coming from:

Is it the interaction between TC and TFS that is causing this issue?

Is there any way to improve the interaction, and have minimum delay?

BR,

TCqauser

Which one of these methods are you using?

I am using TestComplete Test Adapter in the TFS build definition.

Which versions of TestComplete and TestExecute are you running?  The versions need to match.  I'm not sure if that's causing the issue, but that's the first thing to check.

Next I would try running the tests with TestExecute manually from the same place TestComplete is running and let's see how long they each take.

For TestComplete I am using Version: 14.20.2175.7 x64

We only use TestComplete and run the tests via TFS on a server where TestComplete is installed.

Okay, then let's compare the log from a standard run of TC and one from the TFS run and see where the times go different.  That may be a clue.

Thanks Marsha!

@TCqauser Have you tried the comparison as Marsha suggests?

Also, I'd highly recommend updating your TestComplete to version 14.61, and seeing how things will go there.
